Prior to this announcement, Air Zimbabwe called together Kariba tourism stakeholders (including Wild Zambezi) at a meeting in the resort town on 9th July and asked for their co-operation in assisting the airline to make this new route a success. The stakeholders pledged their support and provided some important feedback to the airline on future marketing strategies and reliability requirements.
We appeal to the tourism industry worldwide to take advantage of this new opportunity to broaden the Zimbabwe tourism horizon out of Victoria Falls with the new link into Kariba airport (pictured below).
Lake Kariba and its surrounding Zambezi Valley areas have fantastic and hitherto little-explored tourism experiences to offer: family houseboating, fishing, canoeing, hiking, birding and wildlife viewing second to none in some of Africa's most pristine wilderness areas. It is now possible to create affordable packages linking these in to a Victoria Falls holiday.
Wild Zambezi is excited to welcome this new initiative and we look forward to its growing success.
