Verney’s Camp is based in a private concession in the south-eastern heart of Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. The Camp is located at Verney’s Pan, which is situated on a large open floodplain surrounded by teak forest typical of Hwange National Park.
The waterhole at Verney’s attracts numerous animals and is a playground for the famous elephant herds of Hwange. Verney’s Camp is part of the Machaba Safaris group and is built in keeping with Machaba Safaris’ winning recipe that matches the timeless wonder of a classic safari to Africa. It is aimed at the affordable luxury travel market worldwide for both the novice and the well-seasoned safari traveller.
Ten tents are tucked away perfectly under the shady arms of the teak trees bordering the open
waterhole in front of camp. Each tent has been carefully positioned to ensure the best serenity and privacy so that guests can enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Each room is comfortably appointed and has en suite shower, flush toilet, and double vanity which are all beautifully designed to retain the authenticity and magical feeling of being on safari. Verney’s Camp has eight double/twin rooms and two family rooms, all of which are on wooden decks, and are connected by natural pathways on the ground.

Access
The camp can be accessed via self-drive, road transfer or light aircraft flight to the nearest airstrip. The closest International Airport is Victoria Falls Airport.
Verneys Camp is part of the Machaba Safaris Family, which operates two other camps in Hwange National Park: Deteema Springs and Robins Camp. The company also operates two seasonal tented camps in Mana Pools - Ingwe Pan Camp and Mana River Camp.

It felt like being in the EDEN! This camp is absolutely beautiful, the surroundings, the rooms, the wildlife constantly around, the fireplace, the stars at night.... PLUS the staff, their kindness, friendly and polite, very attentive and caring. Food and experience overall, absolutely perfect. I can't wait to being back!!! it should be a must stop in Hwange National Park.

We had incredible days at the camp and park. The level of service and care is simply off the charts, especially the attitude towards children. Everyone found something they liked and wanted to take the pool with a view of the savannah home with them. Super guide, great food. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

I've stayed in Hwange National Park 7 times in the last 9 years, and every time in a new camp. I can confidently tell you that THIS IS THE best camp there! Words truly can't describe the emotions we all felt walking off the safari vehicle and towards the watering hole. I've never seen this many elephants at one place EVER! It's just a magical scene! The camp itself is absolutely beautiful, with an incredibly attentive staff. Themba and Bee have an amazing team there, and everyone went above and beyond to ensure we had an awesome stay! Our guide, Sipho, was an absolute legend! He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and showed us so many cool spots! The walking safari with him and Themba was also great! The serving staff, Simon, Chipo, Thabo, and Valani were just sensational! They were constantly helping us around the camp and always made sure we were well taken care of! The chefs, Innocent, JB, Sipho, Makhosi cooked us some incredible meals, and we truly loved the lunch set up in the bush! The rooms were all modern, spacious, and definitely a nice "glamping" style. The bed was large and very comfortable, and the cabin had all amenities necessary for a great stay. The views from our porch had hundreds of elephants walking in front of us. I can't thank Bee and Themba enough for being such gracious hosts. You have an incredible team surrounding you, and we can't wait to be back! Siyabonga!!!
