Getaway Show visitors at the Zimbabwe Tourism stand
South Africans can't wait to visit Zimbabwe and are planning their trips already! This is the impression gained from the hordes of visitors at the Zimbabwe Tourism stand who talked to Wild Zambezi at the recent DsTV-Getaway Show in Johannesburg between 11th and 13th September 2009.
Sally Wynn, Wild Zambezi's Campaign Director, reported amazing interest shown by travel enthusiasts keen to visit the Kariba and Zambezi River areas during the coming year. The main focus appeared to be houseboats on Lake Kariba and self-drive safaris into the Mana Pools National Park and World Heritage Site. Many people expressed the desire to escape to the wild areas of Zimbabwe to get away from the 2010 World Cup Soccer in June next year!
Wild Zambezi was able to reassure visitors about issues such as safety, currency, fuel and food availability in Zimbabwe, and to advise on the best self-drive routes to avoid borderpost delays and other bureaucratic inconveniences.
Visitors to the stand were attracted by three wonderful prizes donated by WILD ZAMBEZI partners:
Winners of these fantastic prizes will be announced shortly on this website.
