The new infinity pool at Bumi Hills
Bumi Hills Safari Lodge, on top of a hill overlooking Lake Kariba and adjacent to the wild Matusadona National Park re-opens in August after substantial restorations.
The new lodge now has 20 rooms, a state-of-the-art conference room for 40, an executive boardroom, spa, snooker room and an infinity pool, all with magnificent views over the lake. Game-viewing in the National Park and cultural encounters in neighbouring villages are conducted in new, purpose-built vehicles and a boat is on hand to take guests on sunset cruises, to view wildlife from the water, or to catch the famous tigerfish.
Managed and marketed by Africa Albida Tourism (AAT), the Safari Lodge will be linked to Zimbabwe's other major tourism centres in Victoria Falls and Hwange via a daily air service. "This circuit was an absolute winner in the 80s and 90s, and so it will be again", says Ross Kennedy, CEO of the AAT. He believes that Bumi Hills Safari Lodge will act as a positive catalyst for further investment in the Kariba region and throughout Zimbabwe.
