IN KARIBA TOWN:-
Kariba Safari Lodge is situated on a mountainside with sweeping views over the water and islands of Lake Kariba’s Eastern Basin. Seventeen lodges and suites are distributed over 33 acres of a forested hillside which slopes down to the lake shore, with a sandy beach and a large swimming cage that allows you to swim directly in the lake without fear of crocodiles or hippos.
There are nine open-fronted, en-suite lodges on the property, with twin beds that can be converted into king-size doubles. There are also eight suites which can sleep 4 guests in king-size double beds and on two Indian day beds. All the accommodation facilities have ceiling fans, mosquito nets, a mini bar and complimentary tea and coffee facilities. Travellers enjoy broad views of the lake directly from the comfort of their beds or from their private patios.
The main lodge has an elevated deck set against the mountainside with an expansive open-plan lounge, restaurant, outdoor patio and bar area with awe-inspiring views of the inland sea of Lake Kariba.
Since Kariba Safari Lodge is positioned on a hill guests who may struggle with the steep inclines can be booked into lodges close to the main reception area, if prior notice is given.
Kariba Safari Lodge is an ideal conference and wedding venue as it has a spectacular separate conference/wedding facility and can be used in conjunction with the nearby Crowned Eagle Boutique Hotel.
Crowned Eagle Boutique Hotel is a charming colonial-style property situated on a hill overlooking Lake Kariba with magnificent views of the Matusadona Mountains beyond.
The hotel offers thirteen en-suite rooms (nine of them with king size beds and four with twin beds). Each has a private veranda and stunning views over the lake or gardens/pool. All rooms have air-conditioning, televisions with Digital Satellite TV (DSTV), mosquito nets, a mini bar and complimentary tea and coffee facilities.
There is a large open plan lounge-dining-bar area, and a pool set in tropical gardens – all overlooking the lake.
The accommodation facilities at Crowned Eagle Boutique Hotel are ideal for wedding parties, as an add-on to the main wedding venue at Kariba Safari Lodge which is located very close by.
AT SELOUS (1-hour's drive from Harare)
Pamuzinda Safari Lodge and Chengeta Safari Lodge are surrounded by a game park and boast tranquil and relaxing environments for their guests. Conveniently close to Harare town and the international airport, and just off the Bulawayo Road, they make an excellent stopover point for guests taking tours further afield.
