Tiger Safaris is one of the longest established camps on the Middle-Lower section of the Zambezi River. It is located on the banks of the river 2km downstream of the Chirundu border post.

The camp has recently undergone a total refurbishment and is now a family-friendly establishment rather than just a fishing camp.

Accommodation consists of:-
•    5 river front chalets each with 3 bedrooms en suite.  Each has its own fully equipped kitchen.
•    A family chalet with 3 air conditioned bedrooms , one bathroom , kitchen and lounge.
•    A fully catered chalet with 2 ensuite air conditioned bedrooms.
•    A camp site with ablutions

A restaurant , bar and lounge ( with TV and wi fi ) overlooks the river on one side and the swimming pool and water hole on the other.

Clients have the option of self catering, fully catered or a combination of both.
The restaurant offers packed meals to be taken on boat outings.

With the area a no-hunting zone now,  many species of wildlife have returned to the area and the water hole is frequented by elephant, buffalo, bush buck, warthog and a variety of smaller animals, while hippo mow the lawns at night ... and frequently venture through the restaurant.  Bird life is prolific both on and off the river.

There is lots to keep children entertained with a newly established playground by the pool, a secure pond in which they can feed and catch bream and barbel. Wide open lawns are perfect for enjoying all forms of ball games from soccer to touch rugby.   We offer accommodation for child minders should parents opt to bring theirs to give them a chance to relax or go fishing knowing their children are in good hands.

Tiger Safaris now has 10 refurbished boats for hire skippered by, arguably, the most experienced fishing guides along this stretch of the river. Birding and game viewing by boat are also a favourite with clients.  Also very popular with guests are picnics in the shallows of sandbanks and day trips up to the Kariba dam wall which includes boating through 18km of the spectacular Kariba gorge

We host all forms of functions from fishing competitions, conferences and family get-togethers and are fully equipped to cater for weddings of up to 120 people.

We stayed at Tiger Safaris for two nights while travelling Zimbabwe. Great rooms, friendly staff, and a lovely meals in the restaurant. Stayed in the chalets with Air-con, all the staff were great, from front reception to the lovely night game guard Manga who always came through in the evening to advise he was on duty for the evening and if we were needing any assistance or even if we wanted to be woken up if he saw a particular animal we might be interested in seeing. Our Fisher Guide was very knowledgeable and had a patient demeanour to us still figuring fishing out. We managed to catch a Tiger and a Vundu, would definitely recommend a stay here and wouldn't have any issues with staying here again. The actual grounds were immaculately maintained, green and always being mowed by the evening hippo residents.

We have just returned from a fabulous stay at Tiger Safaris - they've opened a lovely restaurant and we saw so much game at the waterhole - a very relaxing holiday being looked after by excellent staff! Thanks to you all - we will be back!

Our group of 5 from Perth Western Australia were lucky enough to spend 7 wonderful days fishing, game viewing and chilling at Tiger Safaris in September 2016. We loved our stay and we were very well looked after by the friendly and attentive staff. Our thanks to Dylan and Hayley for being such fantastic hosts, Moses and Barbara for ensuring we wanted for nothing and Smoke and Promise for ensuring the beasts didn't make off with us at night. The boat captains (guides) are some of the best fishermen I have ever had the pleasure of fishing with and despite having dabbled at tiger fishing before almost every day was a learning experience. They are incredibly knowledgeable and diligent, patiently talking and guiding you through every engagement ensuring you got to enjoy the experience of catching such a wonderful fish. They have an uncanny ability to know when you have a fish at your bait despite you having a finger on your line, which made for some funny and humbling moments on more than one occasion. Our special thanks to Takesure and Amos, absolute legends. ..and speaking of legends, if anyone has ever opted for catering at Tiger's and experienced their cooking you will know they can produce some damn fine food, Dylan's ribs recipe though verges on the dark arts. I have never seen a group of adults demolish a platter of ribs with such gusto, the ribs were tender, sticky and delicious and have set a bloody high standard that we are all doubtful can be beat by any of the finer restaurants here in Perth. Our thanks To Dylan and his team for all of the fine food, snacks for the boats and packed lunches for the trip to Mana. See you again soon. Thanks to Brendan for this awesome review. We look forward to hosting you again in the near future...... Tiger Safaris
